April A-Z Challenge: Humor me H

My need, my necessity, my lifeline, my requirement!

I can’t relate to people who can’t laugh their heart out at regular intervals. It’s a different thing, I’m married to one such…well that’s another post, I must not digress.

Attempting this genre as a writer/ film maker/ or any creative artist, I believe requires tremendous intellect in addition to the innate skill of harboring a natural sense of humor. More often, especially in television and films, a lot of tacky content gets tossed out in the name of comedy. But what comes to my mind, when you say humor are sitcoms like F.R.I.E.N.D.S, Sienfeld, Different Strokes, The Lucy Show, Ye jo hai Zindagi…

Hindi cinema has but a handful of tastefully made humorous films, Hollywood has of course given us When Harry met Sally, There’s something about Mary, The Gods must be crazy, Meet the parents…..

I am yet to read a book that will make me roll in laughter, please tell me folks if you know any…sure don’t want to miss out on that!

Tooth fairy comes visiting

As dramatic as mornings can get, today was no different. The early morning madness just got more dramatic today, with the long-threatening tooth deciding to disembark, while brushing. What followed was much excitement and triumphant announcements, the world had to know, who cares if they are sleeping! As the said tooth needed some rinsing for presentability and display purposes, the earnest mother suggested that it be run under the tap, while the most horrendous thing happened and it slipped and fell into the drain of the wash-basin, from Brat’s hand. What followed was of course more high decibel activity, with screams and wails, as to how I could suggest something so horrid, and how now, the tooth fairy will never find anything. All this, while the precious minutes and seconds were racing, before the dreaded yellow bus sounded the honk across the road! Marathon Bloggers: August Challenge: 3 Pet Peeves

My personal vexations that annoy me, top three, off the top of my head: (1)    My obsessiveness with orderliness! The number of hours I spend putting those godforsaken toys in their respective places, designate jars that stock essentials in the fridge, file those mundane papers, and yes! the fixation with labelling and honouring it, while putting things back, only to have Brat and Junior scatter everything all over the very next minute!   If only I had spent all these hours at the gym… (2)    Huh! The advise that I attract: a.       Arbit person who stops by to admire Junior: “ You MUST oil his hair.
