Of injuries and missing school


Brat’s chuddy-buddy had a fall last evening and hurt herself quite badly, which meant anxious mama and papa rushing her to the hospital, prompt examination by the Doc and a recommended day of rest from school.

While being highly concerned about the fall and the blood that emerged, brat was only thrilled to be the one to announce the news in school to teacher and friends concerned. The two of them shared on phone the important details of what needs to be communicated and to whom in school, when it suddenly occurred to brat that a fall actually means one full day of ‘holiday from school’. She advised her friend on all exciting things that one can do on a highly opportune day like this one, when the ailing friend reminded her that she needed to rest and also revisit the Doc. To which the Brat gave some super advice to the dear friend “why you wanto go to the hospital…with all beds and no toys…play at home!”

Turns out memories from maternity home are still clear in the head for someone!

Tooth fairy comes visiting

As dramatic as mornings can get, today was no different. The early morning madness just got more dramatic today, with the long-threatening tooth deciding to disembark, while brushing. What followed was much excitement and triumphant announcements, the world had to know, who cares if they are sleeping! As the said tooth needed some rinsing for presentability and display purposes, the earnest mother suggested that it be run under the tap, while the most horrendous thing happened and it slipped and fell into the drain of the wash-basin, from Brat’s hand. What followed was of course more high decibel activity, with screams and wails, as to how I could suggest something so horrid, and how now, the tooth fairy will never find anything. Marathon Bloggers: August Challenge: 3 Pet Peeves

My personal vexations that annoy me, top three, off the top of my head: (1)    My obsessiveness with orderliness! The number of hours I spend putting those godforsaken toys in their respective places, designate jars that stock essentials in the fridge, file those mundane papers, and yes! the fixation with labelling and honouring it, while putting things back, only to have Brat and Junior scatter everything all over the very next minute!   If only I had spent all these hours at the gym… (2)    Huh!
