Junior and his current articulatory quotient!



Need I mention how entertaining toddlers can be when they are picking up language. Junior is currently entertaining us with many such highly imaginatory articulations.


Blowing away -
This was many months ago....
As usual I had lost it and was yelling my head off at brat. The little girl was silently sitting and taking it and Junior was keenly watching my weak nerves falling apart. Moment I stopped yelling, Junior rose from his chair, took position, index finger pointed and body language scornful..... "you are naughty Mama, I'm gonna blow you away to the high tower"
And after that, each time I yell, I have to hear from him "why are you blowing away Mama"

Good Manners -
So, we visited a neighbor/ friend the other day. The mother wasn't at home and we briefly stepped in spoke to the kids and were leaving the place in about 5 minutes, when junior, wearing his shoes said "Thank you for giving us your time E"...ahem! there are times i like to call myself his mother! let's talk about grooming...

When he's very hungry -
"I very hungry Mamma, my stomach is not working"

Bad Manners -
These days visitors at home receive quite an intimidating welcome from Junior
Both hands on the hips and menacing voice "Hey K, why you come...(louder) why you come to MY house". the child is picking up manners from unknown sources. ahem! i am not responsible for this!

Tooth fairy comes visiting

As dramatic as mornings can get, today was no different. The early morning madness just got more dramatic today, with the long-threatening tooth deciding to disembark, while brushing. What followed was much excitement and triumphant announcements, the world had to know, who cares if they are sleeping! As the said tooth needed some rinsing for presentability and display purposes, the earnest mother suggested that it be run under the tap, while the most horrendous thing happened and it slipped and fell into the drain of the wash-basin, from Brat’s hand. What followed was of course more high decibel activity, with screams and wails, as to how I could suggest something so horrid, and how now, the tooth fairy will never find anything. All this, while the precious minutes and seconds were racing, before the dreaded yellow bus sounded the honk across the road! Marathon Bloggers: August Challenge: 3 Pet Peeves

My personal vexations that annoy me, top three, off the top of my head: (1)    My obsessiveness with orderliness! The number of hours I spend putting those godforsaken toys in their respective places, designate jars that stock essentials in the fridge, file those mundane papers, and yes! the fixation with labelling and honouring it, while putting things back, only to have Brat and Junior scatter everything all over the very next minute!   If only I had spent all these hours at the gym… (2)    Huh!
