A-Z April Challenge: When G is for Guilt

I think women fall prey to this feeling more than men. Guilt over eating something, guilt over spending too much, guilt over doing something, guilt over not doing something, and when it comes to parenting related feeling of guilt, then God help women! That is what we got in bargain while giving that final push…enough guilt to last a mother’s lifetime!

That familiar feeling soon crosses the line of acquaintance and becomes a habit, a dependency. We now feel rather awkward if we don’t feel guilty.

“Wow! The movie was good, and I am of course guilty of having my 6 year old sit through it, huh! The movie was really good.”

Bedtime sentiments: “31 things I should’ve done differently with the kids today…. mulling…regretting…Huh…I can sleep well now!”

“She could’ve eaten better maybe if I had added onions in the dish….” this is classic mommy guilt….no day passes without feeding related guilt

And if none of the above feelings exist, “how come I don’t feel this way, maybe I’m not cut out to be a mother”….guilt!

But, this is the way we like to live, gives us a feeling of accomplishment and completeness. Infact, this is our way of expressing colossal love towards our stock!
