Feb Challenge: Day 6: Date

Date

This word carried immense significance to me during both my pregnancies. Not the kind to remember important dates like birthdays, anniversaries, exam dates and such like, I wouldn't be bothered much with the word, until the almighty decided to infuse some respect towards  the same.

Nature has its way of unsettling the settled! I had to now learn to wait. Wait for a certain date to arrive. Rendezvous with Due Date was the driving point then. Counting, re-counting and crossing out in the calendar was a solemn routine. Due date calculators were tested for slip-ups…”maybe this site will throw an earlier date…”! And then, when living with nausea, a big tummy and a huge appetite, almost became a way of life, the big date arrived! (Didn’t seem any different the second time.)

So, birthdays of the offsprings, by far remain the most significant dates in my life!

  1. Loved your take on it :). You reminded me of that time, when you start counting down by weeks/days and then finally (in the case of my 1st) start wondering.. Helloo when are you planning to come out of there ;) ?
