The bollywood effect

A humdinger indeed! Brat came to me this morning to show me a poem that she wrote, which went quite like this:
“Oh Seema baby punch it
Oh Bheema will you lock it”

Well two lines were enough, to leave the gullible mother’s jaw dropping and hitting the floor hard followed by some nail biting, hard thinking and formulating a quick plan-of-action! Surrounded by Lungi dance, Lazy lad, Sheela and what not, poems like these are bound to happen. Bhajans! That is what this household is going to play from now on.

I shall proudly announce to the husband that the situation has been tackled with utmost intelligence and intense study of all theories postulated on ‘Cause and Effect’ Syndrome.

Brat can now gyrate her bottom to Payo ji and Vaishnava jana to. This mother will carefully satiate her appetite for Bollywood music only while the daughter is away at school.

  1. Lolz.. Quite a poem there. I't does rhyme :-D. I too thought of bringing home bhajans and I do too have an appetite for Bollywood music and I too have a pair of impressionable 7 year olds who want to know the 'meaning' of every word. I sure know what you're talking about!

  3. This is both hilarious and true. At home, everything of every genre plays at loud volume in equal measure. I tend to not give too much importance to the Bollywood moves. Hopefully that will fade with time.
