Doing the Mommy Juggle
And it was the day of TTT!!! Me and
the partner went to the designated place, of course with precious cargo in tow.
And along went a bag-full of milk bottles and toys and diapers and teethers,
not to mention all things sundry like the laptop, training material, etc.
I was worried how I would conduct
the training while managing Junior. But I must say, the two God sent resources
who offered to take care of him, put me at such ease and let me focus on what I
set out to do. God bless these women, Junior was quite happy in their company.
While most of the things went
fairly as per plan, we overshot by about 5-10 minutes in concluding the
session and exchanging parting pleasantries. I was hoping against hope to
magically fly and reach home to pick the Brat from her bus stop, but that
couldn’t be. I reached about 15 minutes late and the Brat had to check herself
into a kind neighbour’s house (which she was instructed to do, in case I reach
late). And my arrival saw her fretting and fuming. She had to attend a Birthday
party at 6 and she was quite worried she wouldn’t be able to make it on time to
the party. That was what was expressed, but I do know, Brat is just not used to
me being away, being picked up by someone else, makes her anxious. It is just
that she is unsure how to express the anxiety. She came up with a tantrum on
how she doesn’t want to be late for the party and all that. It’s a different
matter, she spent a good half-an-hour whiling away time with Junior after that.
What followed was some hurried washing and changing and polishing to emerge appropriately
for the all important socialising that was to take place.
The next two hours were blissfull
as Junior decided to nap off after hard day’s work and allowed me to do some
puttering around the house and letting me unwind!
