Burdday month

With Brat’s birthday approaching, an impending training program setting butterflies fluttering around the tummy (it’s been a while since I last did these sessions) and  a perpetually awake Junior, keeping my life all too hectic, I have too much to say and too little time!

Notwithstanding the day being earmarked on the calendar in the beginning of the year, one can say the preparations have kick started for the big day! Nothing very fancy really, we always like to keep it simple, but what always makes these birthdays special is the extent of Brat’s involvement in the preparations for the day. She has been hands on with everything from deco at home to selecting and wrapping return gifts from the time she turned 3!

So this year, the event kick-started with the Brat making the B’Day invites…all by herself (with Papa just drawing the heart shapes on request). She decided and wrote the message on her own. Plus side of making 9 such invites, as Mama would look at it, would undoubtedly be the handwriting practice that happened alongside, as this harried Mama has witnessed many a PTM, with the teacher failing to decipher the Brat’s ‘devanagiri lipi’ and requesting Mama to do what she can to improve the hand writing. Mama being a firm believer in genes and inheritances, only attributes it to the influence of the Y chromosomes and refuses to interfere with nature (do I have to mention the absolutely illegible handwriting of father and grandfather here)!

Anyway…more later…wud love to blog more, but this is all the time that I can afford to spend today…
